When combined, toasty sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion flakes, garlic, and salt can make foods take on the flavor profile of an everything bagel. And that’s just the case with this bagful of almonds, cashews, and pecans. It’s almost uncanny, or you could say “nuts,” how similar this snack tastes to the classic New York bread, but of course, at a fraction of the caloric intake. Maybe this crazy snack phenomenon was the origin of the name “Everything Goes Nuts.”
The Specialty Foods Association is catching the craze too, awarding this snack sofi Gold Winner. The source of this new snack mania is Barb Kobren, a.k.a. BobbySue, the founder of BobbySue’s Nuts. Armed with an age-old family recipe for savory-sweet nuts, she isn’t just passionate about out-of-the-box flavor combinations. A portion of every sale is donated to organizations that help homeless and in-need animals across the country.
Tip of the Tongue:
It would be absolutely nuts to limit these to snacktime. Add them for an extra tasty crunch on a fresh green salad. Oh, or imagine them alongside a soft triple cream brie with crackers. It would be like a reinterpretation of the everything bagel. All you need to add is the lox.
