Before you hit the road, Jack, you should always be prepped with a delicious, filling and healthy snack to sustain you on the journey. Luckily, we found the perfect trail companion. These roasted sweet almonds are dusted with a mix of lemon zest, sugar, and vanilla. It’s a combination that is reminiscent of mom’s lemon cake… but of course, almonds have a lot more protein and less sugar.
Giddy Up Nuts comes to us from Kristy Mangia, and one of her little obsessions was finding a wholesome (but still extremely tasty) snack. She developed the idea for these snack nuts when she herself was trailblazing through the Sierra Nevadas. Stopping at roadside markets, all she spied in the aisles were fatty, salty, over-processed foods. She took an old family recipe and grew it into Giddy Up Nuts (name inspired by a George Strait song), a healthy snack that no road trip, nature hike, or even urban exploration would be complete without.
Tip of the Tongue:
If you’re in need of something to take on your evening walk or on a weekend hike, these are just the trick. You’ll enjoy them plain by the handful. In fact, you’ll find yourself snacking on them, even if your travels only take you to TV land. And think about gifting to mom—she was always obsessed with healthy snacks.
