We know we had you at “Whiskey Truffle,” but there’s actually even more about this brilliant little chocolate bar that is sure to make you melt. We’ve teamed up with our friend Daniel Sklaar at Fine + Raw chocolate in Brooklyn to create three special bars unlike any indulgence we’ve ever tasted. It’s actually a truffle bar, pretty much equivalent to four individual truffles in one incredibly rich little slab. One bite and you’ll get it, there’s a lot happening. You’ll definitely want to check out the classic chocolate truffle bar and hazelnut bar too, but this is their boozy, whiskey-soaked brother, and he’s magical. The warm notes of whiskey add a little bit of edge to the rich, creamy, truffly (it’s a word) raw chocolate. This is a nightcap and an extra serving of dessert all at once.
What’s the story with raw chocolate, anyway? Made from cacao beans that are heated gently and minimally-processed, the result is chocolate that’s crazy high in antioxidants. Using only earthy, caramelly coconut sugar as a sweetener, and creating a creamy, milky texture from coconut butter, Fine + Raw has been able to create a completely dairy-free, vegan chocolate.
